Bayside Trash Collection and Zero-Sort Recycling

Collection

• Trash and recycling are picked up every Monday throughout the year and every Monday and Thursday (even holidays) throughout the summer season.
• Place your trash bags and recycling at the edge of the road, curb or driveway (whatever applies to your cottage, home, or facility) by 8:00 a.m. on pick up days.

Trash

• Each black trash bag (up to 33 gallons) requires one Town of Northport sticker visibly attached to the bag.
• Trash stickers cost $2.00 each and may be purchased at the Town of Northport Office, the Wentworth Family Grocery, and the Town of Northport Transfer Station (checks only accepted at the Transfer Station).
• Racoons and skunks will rip up garbage bags left out (not in secured containers) overnight, so please do not leave food outside or put out your garbage bags the night before collection days.

Zero-Sort Recycling 

• Acceptable items:  clean and dry items with no food particles – paper, cardboard, rigid plastic containers (#1-7), glass containers, metal cans.
• Put recyclables in large paper “lawn and leaf” bags available at Hannaford, Aubuchon Hardware, Renys and similar stores.
• No plastic grocery bags.
• There is no charge for recycling; no trash sticker is required on the recycling bag.
