About the Village Agent
The Village Agent is a year round manager who is chiefly responsible for Bayside’s infrastructure, including roads, parks, and Village-owned properties. On behalf of the Utilities Department, he interfaces with most Village residents concerning their water and sewer needs. He plows roads in the winter, gets the floats into the water in the summer, and a whole lot more
Bayside is fortunate to have a Village Agent – Bill Paige – who helps to make Bayside function. You can usually find him at the Village Office or in his truck, patrolling our community.
Here’s a brief window into what Bill manages, keeps an eye on, and is expert at:
- Manages and monitors all contractors – including parks maintenance, trash collection, and more
- Oversees and handles all work on storm drains, street lights, winter plowing, sanding
- Manages seasonal police department and lifeguards, in conjunction with Personnel Committee
- Prepares Bayside’s waterfront for summer season: managing dock inspections and seasonal installations
- Maintains utilities feed lines – water and sewer; also: weekly compliance sampling
- Interfaces with Overseers and all committees
- Installs and removes seasonal water meters
- Oversees rentals of Community Hall
- Oversees all maintenance of village-owned buildings and properties
- Maintains all fire hydrants and the village fire pond
- Keeps an eye for winter freeze-ups, sewer backups, etc
