Bayside Waterfront
Our waterfront is enjoyed by Bayside residents and the general public alike. The main hub of activity is along the water at Ruggles Park and on the Alfred Keith Wharf – known locally as “the dock”.
About Swimming
Swimming is allowed from Ruggles beach and from the ‘swim float’, which is accessible by a connecting ramp on the left side of the dock. During the summer months, a lifeguard is posted on the dock to monitor swimming around the dock and along the beach. Swimming is permitted from the swim float. Jumping is permitted from the swim float and from the dock (on the swim float side of the ladder) based on the tide. Swimmers should consult with the lifeguard about specific rules and allowances.
About Fishing
Fishing is generally permitted from the right/south side of the dock and from the dingy dock that is accessible by a connecting walk-way on the right side of the dock. Fishing is never permitted from the swim float. To fish from the wharf or the boat float, please also refer to the Waterfront Ordinance for further information.
